The treatment of sewage is essential anywhere be it municipalities or hotels or industries or institutions. Sewage water must not be let go on to the ground as its biological hazardous is very much potent. Generally, there are two models of technologies to treat the sewage those are aerobic and anaerobic. However, aerobic has been vastly used one.
In aerobic model, the bacterial culture is produced by aeration it involves pump, motors and blowers where as anaerobic model can be achieved only by thermophilic digestion, in which Sludge is fermented at 60 degree Celsius.
The aeration used technology has different methodologies to treat sewage, in which the followings are most common.
Moving Bed Bio film reactor process ( MBBR)
This process employs thousands of poly ethylene bio films carriers operating with mixed motion with an aerated waste water basis. It required only leaves space and
Fluidized Bed Bio Reactor ( FBBR)
Fluidized Bed Bio Reactor ( FBBR)
FBBR sewage treatment plant ensures better quality of treated sewage. From media based is manufactured out of UV stabilized poly propylene. Due to the FBBR technology integrated in the sewage treatment plant cost of the installation has been economical the hydraulic retention time is very low.
Rotating Biological contractor (RBC)
Rotating Biological contractor (RBC)
Rotating biological contactors are mechanical secondary treatment systems, which are robust and capable of withstanding surges in organic load. The rotating disks support the growth of bacteria and micro-organisms present in the sewage, which break down and stabilize organic pollutants. To be successful, micro-organisms need both oxygen to live and food to grow. Oxygen is obtained from the atmosphere as the disks rotate. As the micro-organisms grow, they build up on the media until they are sloughed off due to shear forces provided by the rotating discs in the sewage. Effluent from the RBC is then passed through final clarifiers where the micro-organisms in suspension settle as sludge. The sludge is withdrawn from the clarifier for further treatment.
